Los Realejos launches the annual calendar of Canary Islands pilgrimages again in Tigaiga with its commemoration in honor of San Antonio Abad, which will be this Sunday, January 14, with the Eucharistic celebration at 1:00 p.m. in the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de La Concepción, sung by the Folklore Group Guayacsanta.
An hour later the pilgrimage walk will continue in which folkloric groups and improvised parties provide the sound while the image of the saint is accompanied among carts and decorated pivas, in an endearing reunion with the popular culture of the Islands, where there is no shortage of good gastronomy and wines from the region.
As usual, at the end of the pilgrimage route there will be a blessing of the cattle and other animals, and around 5:00 p.m. the popular dance will be performed by the Arguayo Band orchestra, on Calle Tigotán.
In the previous day, this Saturday the neighbors will make the now usual arch of heather, fruits and vegetables at the entrance to the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de La Concepción.
