Proposal for a resident transport voucher valid throughout the Canary Islands

Rosa Davila detailed after the Governing Council the new conditions for free public transport by 2024. Among other things, he announced his proposal that the Canarian resident bonus be “enabling” on all the islands. He gave the example of a young man from La Palma who studies at the University of La Laguna (ULL) and acquire the voucher at one point or another in the Archipelago.

The president of Council stressed that The free pass will continue to be maintained with respect to youth, senior and disabled passes, as well as resident passes.

Regarding state financing for free transportation, she was “hopeful” that the Government of Spain complement that of 2023 where 20 million islands were invested. In addition to facing this year’s which amounted to around 120 due to the increase in demand. The 81 committed by the state “are insufficient,” concluded Rosa Dávila.
