AROUND THE WORLD CRUISE |  This is the cruise that will go around the world and stop in Tenerife

The Italian cruise company Costa Cruises has started the new round the world cruise that will take guests to discover 52 destinations, including Canary Islandsin 34 different countries for four monthswith an itinerary that will touch five continents and cross three oceans.

With 266 Spanish passengers on board, the 2024 edition set sail on January 6 from Trieste (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain) aboard the Costa Deliziosa and will end on May 11 in Marghera/Venice.

Costa Cruises was one of the first companies in the world to offer this trip, back in the 1970s, with the 2024 edition being one of the most successful in history with more than 2,000 guests on board the Costa Deliziosamostly from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Austria.

During the planned 134 days of voyage, the Costa Deliziosa will go around the world, always sailing towards the west. Thus, the itinerary will depart from Italy to visit France, Spain, Morocco and the Canary Islands, It will cross the Atlantic to the Caribbean and then pass through the Panama Canal and explore Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Easter Island.

From there, It will cross the Pacific, touching Polynesia, to reach Australia; It will then head to Japan and South Korea, before heading west again, visiting Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Oman, Jordan and returning to Italy.

Costa Cruises’ 2024 World Tour will visit the following destinations: Trieste, Dubrovnik, Catania, Naples, Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, ​​Casablanca (Morocco), Santa Cruz de TenerifeBarbados, Cartagena (Colombia), Colón (Panama), Panama Canal, Manta (Ecuador), Callao (Peru), Arica and Valparaíso (Chile), Easter Island, Pitcairn Islands, Papeete, Urutoa, Raiatea, Samoa, Tonga , Fiji Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns (Australia), Papua New Guinea, Kobe and Nagasaki (Japan), Busan (South Korea), Keelung (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Da Nang and Phu My ( Vietnam), Singapore, Port Kelang and Penang (Malaysia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Marmugao and Bombay (India), Salalah (Oman), Aqaba (Jordan), Limassol (Cyprus), Naples, Marseille, Savona, Civitavecchia/Rome , Corfu (Greece), Bari, Marghera/Venice.

During their trip guests can take advantage of the rich excursion program proposed by the company. For example, a visit to the old town of Cartagena, or the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, or the Makani Beach Paradise, on the island of Tierra Bomba; in Colón, a kayak excursion on Lake Gatùn; a 4-day excursion to Peru in the footsteps of the Incas; a 5-day excursion to Atacama, at the origins of Chile.

You can also admire the large monoliths of Ahu Tahai and Ahu Akivi on Easter Island; snorkel in Tahiti; discover Sydney’s Blue Mountains; visit Brisbane’s Gold Coast and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary; tour the active volcano of MT Tavurvur in Papua New Guinea; tour the Nagasaki Peace Park and the city of Osaka; visit the Batu Caves and the Kuala Lumpur skyline; tour the Colombo elephant orphanage or tour Goa in India.

Next edition open

The next edition, the Around the World 2025 cruise, is already being prepared, which will set sail in December 2024 and will carry out a special itinerary to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Rio de Janeiro.

There are currently cabins available for this cruise that will circumnavigate the globe mainly through the southern hemisphere, visiting Brazil, Tierra del Fuego, Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Namibia.

For the first time, the departure will be at the beginning of December 2024, on December 7 from Trieste – with the possibility of also boarding in Catania, Civitavecchia/Rome, Savona, Marseille and Barcelona – to enjoy the Christmas holidays on a cruise. New Year’s Eve in Rio de Janeiro will be very special, with a fireworks show from Copacabana beach.
