SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
This Monday, the Cabildo of Tenerife has sought the support of the CEOE-Tenerife in the employment policies and strategic projects of Tenerife during a meeting held between the president, Rosa Dávila, and the general secretary of the employers’ association, Pedro Alfonso.
Dávila highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration for job creation.
“We only have to see the latest unemployment data for December 2023, which is the lowest since 2019, so Tenerife’s economy is beginning to show important signs of good health, there are almost 14,000 fewer unemployed people compared to 2019” , he pointed out.
In his opinion, “this is a very important amount despite the fact that the number of people entering the labor market continues to increase, hence the importance of public-private projects to be able to advance vocational training projects, of these projects where women take a leading role in the transformation of societies and in that sense we have several projects in collaboration with the CEOE such as the important initiative of Building the Future.”
For his part, Pedro Alfonso highlighted that “the employment data is resounding thanks to the line of public-private collaboration” and that is why work will continue in this direction.
On the other hand, added the representative of the employers’ association, a “call” is also made to the entire society of Tenerife because “it is time to join these projects, we need a single voice, a single path to the future and the program that that the Cabildo is developing seems more than viable to us, it seems to us that it is appropriate to promote employment.
In addition, both Rosa Dávila and Pedro Alfonso addressed the status of some projects such as the ‘Tenerife Sustainable Mobility Island Plan’ and agreed to hold a semi-annual follow-up meeting.
