He Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Councilthrough the area of Strategic Planning, Environmental Sustainability and Public Services directed by Carlos Tarife, has awarded Juan Marichal Hernández the drafting of the project to condition the surrounding streets of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife market Our Lady of Africa, as well as project management and health and safety coordination of the necessary works for an amount of 137,816 euros. A project that has a total budget of 2,149,287 euros, of which 1,719,429 euros, 80%, will be financed from Next Generation European funds.
The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, indicates that “the need for the project that will modernize and pedestrianize the streets surrounding the Nuestra Señora de África market is high and will achieve value in this emblematic commercial space of the city and that is part of the lives of all the chicharreros and chicharreras.”
The Councilor for Strategic Planning, Carlos Tarife, explains that “the drafting of this project, whose works could begin around the month of October, contemplates the pedestrianization and rear access of the Market, with the intervention on Darias Padrón Street, part of Bethencourt and Molina, and the improvement and adaptation of the area occupied by the Rambla Azul, with action on José Manuel Guimerá street.”
For his part, the Councilor for Infrastructure, Javier Rivero, assures that “this is a very important work, which will not only improve and add value to the area, but will also contribute to the promotion of commercial activity in this emblematic and highly visited place. of Santa Cruz.”
The next step after drafting the project will be its tender, which will have an investment of 196,992.24 euros. These works will begin later.
