This is a project promoted by Red.es, a Public Business Entity attached to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which seeks to create an innovation space and a trends laboratory where virtual and digital ideas and projects are developed.
This initiative contemplates the implementation of a headquarters, which will be located in the municipal offices of Barranco de Santos, specifically, in the Placita del Barranco, as sources from the capital City Council have confirmed to DIARIO DE AVISOS.

In addition, the involvement of a specific team is planned that has programs to help startups in all their development phases: training, mentoring, acceleration through internationalization programs and attracting investment, as well as Publishing, so that developers monetize from the beginning.

The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, explained that “this project is focused on promoting employment and self-employment of the youth of Santa Cruz, facilitating entrepreneurship in these strategic sectors, improving the image and positioning of the city in terms of innovation and promote digital transformation, attract talent, and position ourselves as a benchmark in the video game and entertainment sector, two booming sectors.”

For his part, the Councilor for Strategic Planning, Carlos Tarife, indicated that “this project, already implemented in Malaga, has made it possible to train young people in the development of video games and has achieved a job placement rate of 90%, which translates into 1,200 jobs, achieving an economic impact of more than 10 million euros.” Data and a model, the councilor stressed, that “we must take advantage of it to grow this sector that offers so many opportunities and for which more than 50 companies work in Tenerife alone.”

The Malaga Digital Content Pole, which will advise the future Santa Cruz Pole, was created in 2017 as an innovation space and trend laboratory where ideas or projects belonging to the digital content sector and its auxiliary sectors are developed.

Video games, audiovisual production, metaverse and virtual, extended and augmented reality are the key themes of this space, in which free training programs are developed for young people and the unemployed aimed at training them in the new professions that are generated in the environment of video games and with high employability.

Likewise, they help other territories in the definition of their verticalized entrepreneurship models based on their experience and the success achieved in their implementation, accompanying startups in their development phases, from the initial idea, specialized mentoring, acceleration of the project through internationalization programs and attracting investment or publishing so that developers monetize their initiative from the beginning.

It is a unique digital zone for entrepreneurship, connect-working, creative innovation and advanced training, in which startups and entrepreneurs find the necessary help to promote technological initiatives, advanced learning and transmedia projects.

In this sense, providing tools so that developers and companies can carry out their activity in their initial moments is one of the fundamental lines of work of entrepreneurship in the Pole.
