The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, signed this Tuesday, January 2, the decree that defines the powers of the different council departments and mayoral positions that will make up the City Council based on this procedure. In total, nine mayoral positions and thirteen councilors have been established for the Consistory, in addition to the mayor himself. Canarian Coalition, the new Government partners, will have areas such as Local Development or Tourism.
Badel Albelo (PSOE) functions as Sports Councilor, in addition to his first term as mayor. For his part, Francisco José Hernández (CC) assumes the second term of mayor and the powers of Citizen Participation and Municipal Services (urban waste, public lighting, parks and gardens).
Cristina Ledesma (PSOE) will be the third deputy mayor and the councilor for Citizen Security, including sectoral powers corresponding to Local Police, Civil Protection or planning, control and processing.
The decree also establishes Ángel Chinea (PSOE) as the fourth deputy mayor and councilor for Works, Infrastructure, Accessibility, Market, Water Supply, Beaches, Swimming Pools and Cemeteries. In the field of Works and Infrastructure, he also assigns sectoral powers in urban management and discipline, the legal regime and administrative coordination.
María Estefanía Díaz (CC) assumes the fifth term of mayor and the Department of Tourism and Commerce, covering the hospitality and restaurant sectors. Likewise, Adolfo Cordobés will be the sixth deputy mayor and the councilor for Urban Planning, Housing and Heritage.
Likewise, Carla Cabrera (PSOE) will hold the seventh mayoral term and will assume the Presidency and Planning Area, including general sectoral powers and citizen information, planning, human resources, IT, contracting and planning, organization, quality and inspection.
The decree reflects that Jesús Domingo Galván (CC) will be the eighth deputy mayor and the councilor for Promotion and Local Development, Environment, Health, Mobility and Transportation. This Department will include powers related to climate change, the Anaga Rural Park, sustainability, pollution control and management, animal health and well-being, employment and business.
The socialist Francisca Rivero will be in charge of the ninth term of mayor and the Area of Finance and Economic Services, with powers of supervision, auditing, treasury, taxes and other operations related to the management of budgetary resources and income in general.
For his part, Dailos González (PSOE) becomes the councilor for Equality, Festivals, Transversality and LGBTI. For her part, María Cruz will be the councilor for Social Welfare and Quality of Life, including basic social services, accessibility and handicap.
The socialist Leticia Villegas will be the councilor responsible for Culture and the Primary Sector, although she will also lead actions in the field of rural, agricultural, livestock and fishing development. Finally, Sergio Eiroa (CC) will be the mayor of Education, Youth, Drug Addiction and OMIC (Municipal Office of Consumer Information).
The decree signed by the mayor of La Laguna also names the members of the Government Board, who will be Badel Albelo, Cristina Ledesma, Ángel Chinea, Adolfo Cordobés, Carla Cabrera, Francisca Rivero, Francisco José Hernández, María Estefanía Díaz and Jesús Domingo Galvan.
