With music as the common thread and solidarity with the fire of Tenerife As the main theme, Televisión Canaria says goodbye to 2023 with a special program full of talent and emotion designed not only to welcome the new year, but as a declaration of unity, gratitude and hope for all. Canary Islands and a reminder of the importance of taking care of our territory and our planet.
A special program with more than three hours of top-level musical performances will bring joy and celebration to Canarian homes under the direction of Ramón Rodríguez and Quino Falero and the musical direction of Benito Cabrera, who, once again, presents a proposal eclectic artistic movement that ranges from pop, author songs, American music, reggae, boleros, jazz or salsa, with the participation of figures such as Pasión Vega, Pedro GuerraEffect Pasillo, Nía or Chago Melián, but that does not forget the sounds of the land with notable names such as Domingo Rodríguez Oramas ‘El Colorao’, Germán López or Paco Perera, among many other artists.
The program, full of humor and music, will be hosted by a large group of presenters from the network. Pilar Rumeu, Ana Trabadelo, Desirée Hernández, Miguel Ángel Daswani, Daniel Calero, Kiko Barroso, Cata González, Marta Rodríguez, Carlos Castilla and Pedro Machín will give voice and image to the emotion and joy of this magical night on Televisión Canaria.
The first part of this event, which is sponsored by Turismo de Tenerife and the Cabildo de Tenerife, begins at 8:55 p.m. from the special stage located outside the Adan Martín Auditorium, to then move to the El Sauzal Theater to continue the party and welcome the new year from the Plaza de Nuestra Señora de la Luz, in Guía de Isora, next to Eloisa GonzalezWendy Fuentes, Dani Calero and Elvis Sanfiel.
In this significant time of the year, so close, “it is important that Canarian Television be a reference and that it generates moments of meeting for everyone,” highlighted the new sole administrator of RTVC, María Méndez. The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, thanked that Televisión Canaria had chosen the island as the backdrop to say goodbye to the year, a farewell “made with joy, light, music and the wonderful team of RTVC professionals, with whom we say goodbye to a complicated year after the fire but, I am convinced, we will overcome with work and enthusiasm in 2024,” she said.
The commitment of the New Year’s special to offer live music “is a challenge that can be faced thanks to an enormous technical and artistic effort,” considers the musician Benito Cabrera, artistic director of the show, who highlighted “the guarantee that It means working with Alberto Méndez as responsible for the sound and audio post-production, and of course the work of stage direction by Quino Falero and general direction by Ramón Rodríguez, as well as the entire great team that is behind everything” to offer a unique event “that lives up to what Canarian spectators deserve to celebrate New Year’s Eve,” he celebrated.
The special program has been planned with two shows from two different spaces and several audiovisual artistic pieces, in addition to the retransmission of the chimes. One outdoors, on a majestic stage located outside the Adán Martín Auditorium coinciding with its 20th anniversary, where a show full of surprise, humor, dance and musical performances takes place against the backdrop of the magnificent Gran Canaria Big Band, which accompanies the soloists in their performances, always with the festive spirit that a night like this requires.

The El Sauzal Theater, for its part, has been converted into an impressive party hall, with the audience around the stage to increase the festive and celebratory atmosphere, for a show illustrated with the beautiful skies of Tenerife and a very wide repertoire of music and humor.

The special end-of-year program is completed by three incredible audiovisual pieces of music and dance, by La Crème Films, recorded in the Charco de Buenavista, in the Anaga Rural Park and in the burned mountain, accompanied by various musical themes and poems by Pedro García Cabrera that will remind you that, in a year marked by challenges and adversity, Tenerife has faced one of the greatest tests in its recent history with the devastating fire that devastated much of the island in 2023.
