La Orotava will celebrate the next January 4 one of the most delicious and anticipated Christmas events in the municipality: the preparation of the Three Kings roscón larger from Tenerife. Starting at 5:00 p.m.this typical Christmas sweet will begin to be prepared in the Emilio Luque Avenuein the area of La Milagrosa school.
In this edition, the roscón will measure almost 500 meters long, made up of 500 joined pieces. The dough will be made at the Jovita Bakery with 300 kilos of flour, 50 kilos of orange and various fruit, as well as margarine, butter, sugar, vanilla and lemon.
The Manobuena sweet shop will be in charge of filling the portions using nearly 1,000 kilos of pastry cream. In addition, the sweet will be accompanied by chocolate, distributing approximately 450 liters.
In the portions you can find surprises and gifts donated by businesses in La Orotava. Participants who benefit from these gifts must go to the indicated store to pick them up.
The candy will be distributed in exchange for a donation, since the event has charity purposes. The money raised will go to the social work of the Red Cross and Cáritas for the most needy families in the municipality.
Animation for all audiences
Throughout the afternoon, there will also be entertainment around the shopping area for adults and children. In addition to characters from the children’s world, dances and a live radio program, there will be musical performances by Los Vándalos and Quimbao La Nuit, among others.
