Lies from the organizers
The organizers of the event had announced that they would hold an event for 150 people while they had sold 1,500 tickets. They did not have a license to carry out a discotheque activity for more than 150 attendees. Law 62.6 of the security regulations sanctions premises that exceed the permitted capacity by 10%. In the Dubai room, when the police arrived, was exceeded by 415%.
Unlicensed
According to sources from the Local Police, the minutes correspond to non-compliance with, among others, the following article of the security regulations: law: 62.1, by not having a license to carry out a discotheque activity for more than 150 people. When the police arrived there were already 665 people inside.
Not having personnel for access control
The Police did not find specific personnel to control access nor systems to count clients, which is why the authority had to evict the attendees who were inside the premises 30 at a time to be able to count how many people were inside.
No emergency exits
The inspection carried out specifies that the emergency exits were blocked by furniture and construction material
A dangerous ground
The police report prepared the night of the party states that the floor lacked “non-slip conditions” for greater safety.
Lack of signage
By law, emergency exits must be marked with signs, something that, according to the police report drawn up the night of the event, did not happen either. There were also no signs prohibiting access to minors and “all those required by law.”
Difficult access to fire extinguishers, curtains and sishas on without ventilation
In the document written by the police, it is highlighted that access to fire extinguishers, essential elements to extinguish any fire that could occur, was “difficult.” It is also reported that there were curtains in the premises that posed a risk and that there were sishas (water pipes that are lit with burning charcoal) in an area with “insufficient ventilation.”
