The Plaza de La Candelaria will be the setting this Sunday, the 31st, for the celebration of a New Year’s Eve children’s party organized by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Autonomous Party Organization and the Development Society. The event, in which 2024 will be welcomed in advance, is part of the city’s Christmas and Epiphany programming and will begin from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The celebration, which is family-friendly and free, is aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 12 “and is a special way to bring forward the New Year’s bells with the little ones in the house who, in On many occasions, they fall asleep before the bell rings and families cannot celebrate the entry into the new year together with the boys and girls,” said the Festival Councilor, Javier Caraballero.
The program of activities, which will begin at 11:00 a.m., will be made up of children’s workshops (crafts, face painting and interactive activities), bouncy castles, Zumba Kids, photocalls with children’s characters and musical performances on the stage located in the Plaza de La Candelaria.
For the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, the event “will be an opportunity to share New Year’s Eve in the city in a different way, as well as an opportunity for merchants to end 2023 with thousands of people enjoying the family and festive atmosphere.”
At 12:00 noon there will be an early welcome of the New Year for the boys and girls, where they can eat the traditional ‘candy’ grapes (without gluten or sugar) and party favors will be distributed. The special programming will end with a performance by Los Gabytos, starting at 1:00 p.m.
New Year’s Eve for adults
The capital’s City Council, through the Autonomous Festival Organization, has organized a show in the Plaza de La Candelaria, which will be open to the public and will begin at 11:30 p.m. with a performance by Renzzo El Selector.
The Maracaibo orchestra will liven up the square, starting at 00:30; The KNarias will appear on stage at 02:45 a.m.; at 3:20 a.m., it will be the turn of the Revelation orchestra; and DJ Wes, will be responsible for the last performance of the night starting at 5:35 a.m.
The sound of the twelve bells will be crowned with a pyrotechnic display, with low acoustic impact, organized by the City Council and the Port Authority.
