SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The deputy of the Canary Coalition (CC), Cristina Valido, has valued today, Wednesday, the approval by the Council of Ministers of the package of social scope measures as “one more step on the path of real compliance” of the agreements signed by the nationalist party for the investiture of the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.
Along these lines, the Canarian Coalition parliamentarian has stressed that practically all of “these important social measures that have been approved today have a direct and precise fit” in the Canary Islands Agenda signed in Madrid.
Among these social scope measures already included in the Canarian Agenda, the 100% extension of the bonus for buses and trams stands out, without limits, as of December 31, 2023, at least under the same conditions that are developed suburban transport in the peninsular territory.
Once again, Cristina Valido has stressed, “the result of the political negotiations of the Canary Coalition can be verified, which will result in maintaining social aid against the crisis to the families of our islands in areas as important as land transport. and aid for consumption in homes”.
After knowing the effective scope of the social measures that have been approved today by the Council of Ministers, and of which the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has given an account after the meeting of his cabinet, the deputy of Canarian Coalition has highlighted “the importance of having a strong nationalist representation in both the Congress and the Senate to enforce a whole series of objectives that nationalists have set for ourselves to face this new legislature in the State.”
Valido also particularly valued compliance with the series of measures promoted by public administrations to respond to the material, economic and social damage caused by the eruption of the volcano on the island of La Palma.
In this sense, the deputy stressed that “delivering on La Palma, with all the palm trees that were affected by the volcanic catastrophe in the Aridane Valley, will always be a priority for Canarian nationalists and this is how we have defended and “We are going to continue defending them in all initiatives in Congress and the Senate.”
Specifically, he highlighted the effective extension of the social shield measures implemented in La Palma to respond to the needs caused by the volcano and, in this area, he highlighted that the 60% reduction of personal income tax for residents in the island and the allocation of another item of one hundred million euros in the General State Budgets.
Also that it responds to the exceptional situation of the labor market with the expansion of the ERTE that affects those affected by the volcano. “If we have almost nothing guaranteed from the end of the year, the agreement of the Canarian Agenda guarantees strict compliance with measures with the inalienable objective on our part of returning everything that the volcano took,” said Valido.
“We are fully aware of the important work that remains ahead during these next four years, but in the Canary Coalition we are going to continue developing our activity so that all the actions launched by the Government of Spain correspond to similar actions in the Canary Islands, which “are always fully adapted not only to our territorial, economic and social realities but also represent effective compliance with the Economic and Fiscal Regime,” said the parliamentarian.
In this scenario, Cristina Valido recalled that the fourth point of the Canarian Agenda includes the political commitment to establish, within a period of two years, a new regional financing model that can guarantee financial sufficiency of basic and essential public services such as education, health and social services-dependency, with absolute separation of REF resources, thus complying with article 166.3 of the basic economic and fiscal framework in the Canary Islands.
