SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Court of Instruction No. 2 of Santa Cruz de La Palma has decreed the entry into provisional prison without bail of a 48-year-old man, a resident of the province of Las Palmas, who was caught with more than 18 kilos of hashish in the car.
The events occurred during a Civil Guard control in the surroundings of the La Grama Industrial Estate, in Breña Alta, established in relation to the intensification of services carried out during this Christmas season to reinforce security in commercial areas and their surroundings.
There, Civil Guard agents stopped a vehicle. After interviewing the driver, he always showed a high degree of nervousness when faced with any simple question, which is why the agents decided to carry out a superficial search of his belongings and the vehicle he was driving in case he could be hiding something, thus finding in Inside a backpack were 19 individually wrapped packages of what apparently appeared to be a narcotic substance, hashish.
After carrying out the appropriate tests, the results obtained were that it was indeed hashish, weighing 18.2 kilos. Consequently, the man was arrested and, together with the proceedings carried out, he was placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court No. 2 of Santa Cruz de La Palma, whose judicial authority decreed that the accused be placed in provisional detention without bail.
