The Tenerife Science and Technology Park promotes entrepreneurship and technological innovation on the island

He Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT), a public company dependent on the Cabildo of Tenerife, has the mission of helping to diversify the economy of Tenerife by developing the culture of innovation as the axis of improving competitiveness.concentrating in the enclaves of the Park global innovative and technological companies and entities that carry out research, development or unique production of applied technology, promoting the transfer of knowledge and the hiring of specialized talent, in order to grow local innovative or technology-based companies, promote technological entrepreneurship and startups, and attract global companies to the enclaves of the PCTT.

The Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez, explains that the PCTT line for business and innovative consolidation on the island “makes it a fundamental tool to respond to the Tenerife Innovation Master Plan, working on improvement of the productive fabric through its diversification and organizational and technological modernization, promoting the knowledge society and giving value to the qualification of human resources.”

“We want to carry out a transformation in the productive fabric of the Island and offer a specialized service career for workers and managers of companies and public-private entities in matters of entrepreneurship, innovation and transfer that allows a technological evolution to improve the different processes existing in companies from their own management, design, customer management to internationalization and foreign sales of their products,” explains Martínez.

On the other hand, the work of the Tenerife Science and Technology Park has its objective in terms of Innovation Management given his role of insular innovation agency, especially in the projects and actions included in the Innovation Master Planaimed at the promotion of scientific-technological vocations, the training of professionals in high-tech sectors, the dissemination of R&D, and their co-responsibility on the island of Tenerife in providing advanced services linked to specialized training in profiles digital and technological to technology-based companies

The Tenerife Science and Technology Park offers unique conditions for innovative companies, and invests in people, projects and infrastructure, channels R&D&i and entrepreneurship. Likewise, it is committed to improving competitiveness and business cooperation and technologically training the island’s young people, generating qualified employment and promoting the transfer of knowledge.

The PCTT is distributed around 600,000 square meters, comprised of six enclaves that are aimed at startups, entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals (business incubators and coworking). These spaces are: Innovaparq ULL, TFcoworkIN, INfactory, Enclave Cuevas Blancas, IACtec and NanoTEC.

The services offered by the PCTT are of a different nature. So, facilitates training programs for profiles demanded by companies and provides advice to companies and entrepreneurs in the search for aid for R&D&i. Furthermore, it serves as link between companies and research groups at the University of La Laguna for specific R&D demands.

On the other hand, it has collaboration with other R&D infrastructures such as the SEGAI laboratories, the Teide HPC supercomputer and Anaga and provides advice to benefit from the Economic and Fiscal Regime with a tax rate of 4% on corporate tax. In addition, it offers facilities for companies linked to technology and innovation to set up in Tenerife and holds work meetings at the local level, which boosts the economy on the Island.
