He Children’s Park Tenerife (PIT) 2023 opened its doors to the public this Friday afternoon with the presence of the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Davilaand other members of the island corporation. The facility will remain open until next January 5 at the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds. More than 35 attractions for all ages await Tenerife residents. More than 400 young people from associations of people with disabilities from all over the Island enjoyed before anyone else, in a visit during the morning, games, workshops and attractions.
Rosa Dávila was accompanied by the vice president of the Fairgrounds, Manuel Fernandez, also Minister of Industry and Commerce. Both inaugurated – and enjoyed like kids, by the way – the enabled facility of more than 18,000 square meters dedicated this year to magic. It houses 35 different play areas, where various recreational, physical and educational activities will be offered, to, according to the advertising promotion, “create an offer of quality and high added value, which includes the necessary balance between fun and values.” This time the PIT enters the world of magic. There are training and educational workshops that reveal the secrets of the great magicians, digital games and manuals to test the skill and creativity of the participants. The PIT will be more than ever A magical place the next 15 days.
Like every edition, the park offers activities for all ages, which take place in different areas: ice skating rink, sports space, fairground attractions, musical and theatrical shows, environmental workshops, makeup, balloon twisting or crafts. Children and adults enjoyed the wide range of entertainment on the first day. Some to live that magic, never better said, of such special days. Others, with the certainty that their children are having a great time. And, furthermore, all participating together.
Councilor Manuel Fernández explains that “we have enabled these more than 18,000 square meters, which will house 35 different play areas, where we will offer all kinds of activities.” Fernández also highlights that “this event has been celebrated since 1989 and has already established itself as one of the most anticipated events for children and families during these Christmas periods.”
social prologue
The island councilor of Social Action, Águeda Fumero, and Manuel Fernández received more than 400 young people yesterday morning at the Fair Institution to carry out an exciting prologue to the Tenerife Children’s Park. The boys came from third sector entities related to the field of disability. They were able to enjoy the activities and attractions of the PIT throughout the morning. Águeda Fumero assured that “with this initiative we want to promote a space where attendees can enjoy a range of experiences that promote inclusion.” The counselor added that “we intend to work from a transversal point of view, so that we can contribute to the construction of an increasingly egalitarian society.”
The objective is to “guarantee the same opportunities for all people, as well as ensuring access to rights, which also include inclusive leisure.”
