He Tenerife Council awarded the contract for the conservation and maintenance service of roads on the Island for a global amount of 43.3 million euros. The extraordinary island Government Council approved the commitment in the self-managed areas in the Central, North, West, South and Anaga zones for a period of three years, extendable for two more.
Under the agreement reached, the island Corporation assigned the necessary work on the roads to the five companies. For the Central area to the entity Transformaciones y Servicios S, for an amount of 11.1 million euros; in the North zone to the UTE Asfaltomeros SA-AMC Construcciones y Contratas for an amount of 9.9 million euros; in the Western sector to the company Construcciones Sánchez Domínguez-Sando SA for 8.5 million; in the South sector to the entity Conservación, Asfalto y Comunicación SA for 9.4 million and, finally, the company Sacyr Conservación SA will be in charge of the Anaga sector for 4.1 million euros.
The contract that contemplates actions in more than 800 kilometers of roads which, due to their characteristics, require special attention regarding their conservation. The objective of the work is to guarantee the attention of specialized teams to improve the conditions of the road both in terms of infrastructure and the fixing of potholes, profiling of ditches or the improvement of margins. Likewise, the cleaning of products and spills on the road and maintaining road markings in conditions of correct visibility are contemplated, among other planned services.
Heritage catalogues. The Government Council also approved allocating 1.6 million euros for the preparation of municipal catalogs of heritage assets. Specifically, it is an item for the preparation of the catalogs of Buenavista del Norte, San Juan de la Rambla, Garachico, La Guancha, Arafo, El Rosario, Guía de Isora, San Miguel de Abona, Tacoronte, Los Realejos, Granadilla de Abona and Fasnia. Likewise, included in the subsidy are the Catalog of the Teno Rural Park (except Masca), the inventory of collections of movable artistic property owned by the municipality in La Orotava, the Catalog of the Special Plan for the Protection of the Historical Complex called Casco History of San Cristóbal de La Laguna and the Catalog of the General Planning Plan of the latter municipality.
Help the Bishopric. In addition, the Governing Council agreed to approve several subsidies requested by the Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Bishopric of Tenerife).
