SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The GES helicopter has recovered the body of a man who was found floating in the sea between the municipalities of Los Realejos and Puerto de la Cruz, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1- 2.
At around 11:30 a.m., 1-1-2 received an alert from the Local Police in which it was reported that a fisherman saw from land the body of a person floating face down in the sea, so the Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
The emergency device was made up of the GES rescue helicopter, a medicalized ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), Local Police, General Corps of the Canarian Police and National Police.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter, with the collaboration of personnel from the Rescue Service on the municipality’s beaches, rescued the affected person from the sea and evacuated him in the aircraft to the vicinity of the El Peñón soccer field, while they performed resuscitation maneuvers.
Once on the ground, SUC personnel confirmed that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, confirming his death.
The National Police guarded the body of the deceased man until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding procedures. Local Police Agents and the General Corps of the Canarian Police intervened in the emergency device deployed in the area.
