The Government of the Canary Islands invests 600,000 euros in the 54,000 consumer bonds to reactivate the economy in the 11 municipalities affected by the last forest fire registered in Tenerife: Arafo, Candelaria, Güímar, Güímar, Arafo, El Rosario, Candelaria, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula, Los Realejos and La Orotava. The campaign will run until March 31 of next year and will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. next Wednesday, through the platform www.bonoconsumotf.com. The investment will generate 1.2 million in spending on purchases to be made in participating businesses, which will be able to join the initiative starting today.
The system and conditions of use of these trade bonuses are the usual ones. The user pays 10 euros for the voucher, although its face value will be double, that is, 20 euros.. If a consumer buys 10 vouchers, which is the maximum per person, he will pay 100 euros, but will be able to make purchases worth 200 euros. They can be purchased by anyone, but they can only be exchanged in establishments in the eleven municipalities affected by the fire. The novelty of the campaign called Consume in the municipalities affected by the Tenerife fire is that restaurant establishments are included for the first time.
The conditions
The same user may exchange several vouchers in a single purchase and it will be necessary to present the DNI before paying, as well as the voucher in printed or digital format. Each establishment has a maximum spending limit of 3,000 euros, so the vouchers can be used until the establishment’s balance is exhausted and before the end of the campaign, set for March 31, 2024.
The general directorates of Commerce and Consumption, and of Planning, Training and Tourism Promotion of the Government of the Canary Islands coordinate the initiative, which is managed by the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca).

The regional Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jessica de Leonemphasized the need to buy from local businesses due to “the essential role it plays in the economy and in job creation.”
