SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Tenerife Cabildo approved this Wednesday an investment of approximately 5.3 million euros for the improvement of different natural spaces on the island, another 3.2 million in the award of linguistic immersion scholarships for the 2024 school years. -2025-2026 and 1.4 million euros for the acquisition of 21 vehicles within the Social Action area.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, and the vice president, Lope Afonso, offered a press conference to report on the agreements approved by the Government Council.
Thus, within the area of Natural Environment, Sustainability and Security and Emergencies, an item of 3.2 million euros was approved for actions in the Teide National Park, which includes the commission to Gesplan for the execution of the recovery construction project. and protection of vegetation on the margins of roads TF-21, TF-24 and TF-38 through the installation of wood-metal barriers and the execution of the forest fire prevention and extinction service in the next two years.
Likewise, an amount of 1.1 million euros was approved for the execution of the works to open the access road to Batán de Abajo, in the Anaga Rural Park, whose works will be carried out by Gesplan and will have a deadline of 20 months.
In addition, the tender for the contract for the start-up and development of the ‘Masizo de Anaga Biosphere Reserve’ brand was approved for an amount of 300,000 euros and an execution period of two years and another 648,000 euros will be allocated for the improvement of the Island Network of Trails.
In the area of Employment, Education, Youth and Training and Education for prevention, the Government Council awarded the contract for 3.2 million euros for the execution of the linguistic immersion scholarship program for ESO and Baccalaureate students for the period 2024-2025-2026.
Specifically, there are 10 lots that are awarded to five companies: Language Kingdom, Always School of Languages, She Herencia, Cultur and Red Leaf.
In this way, the Cabildo provides 340 scholarships to students to carry out language studies in Canada, Ireland, the United States and France under three different modalities that include annual and quarterly stays.
Within the Social Action area, an amount of approximately 1.4 million euros was approved for the supply of 21 vehicles for different units of the Institute of Social and Socio-Health Care (IASS).
Specifically, there are eight vehicles for the Dependency unit, four for Childhood and Family, seven for Engineering and Maintenance and two for Gender Violence.
The vice president, Lope Afonso, has pointed out that some cars “spent more time in the workshop than in service” and others did not even have safety systems, regardless of their pollution.
760,000 EUROS TO DESALINATE WATER IN THE GÜÍMAR VALLEY
In the area of Primary Sector and Animal Welfare, an amount of approximately 760,600 euros was approved for Balsas de Tenerife (Balten) to finance the action called ‘Desalination of regenerated water in the municipality of Güímar’, which will contribute to improving the situation of farmers.
The Government Council also approved, within the area of Municipal Cooperation and Housing, the Insular Program of Priority and/or Urgent Municipal Works for an amount of 3.4 million euros for municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants.
Likewise, the approval was given to the attribution to the Candelaria City Council of the management of the action provided for in the Island Cooperation Plan for the works and services of municipal competence 2022-2026 called ‘EBAR Punta Larga- EBAR San Blas. Phase I’ with a contribution of approximately 2.3 million euros.
In the area of Economic Development, the extension of the collaboration agreement with Nuevo Micro Bank, SAU was approved for the management of microcredits without collateral for entrepreneurs.
