Tenerife invests 3.2 million in improving Teide roads



The Tenerife Cabildo reported this Wednesday on its government council agreements before the end of the year, a set of approvals among which the 3.2 million euros that will be invested in Teide to improve the roads after the fire stand out.

In relation to roads and mobility on the island, the president of the Tenerife Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, has referred to the sustainable mobility plan, now in public information, when asked by journalists, and has said that there is no discrimination or values ​​no measure over another.

In this way, Dávila has called for the culmination of the process to find out the “most feasible” solutions, and has said that the aforementioned document does not unilaterally solve the problem but rather exposes a variety of solutions to reach “the optimal.”

He said that the drafting team has analyzed all the options, from railways to mobility policies, and has described the plan as an “open” document to citizens, which involves the municipalities and, among others, invites them to make a more rational use of private vehicles. The president of the Cabildo has mentioned other government council agreements held this Wednesday, where she has placed special emphasis and has referred to the investment of 5.3 million for the natural environment area.

Likewise, he has broken it down by item and has said that, of that total, 3.2 will be injected into the Teide National Park, to carry out the recovery of road margins.

In this way, Gesplan is entrusted with the execution of the construction project for the recovery and protection of vegetation, specifically on the margins of roads TF-21, TF-24 and TF-38.

The aforementioned project also includes the installation of wood-metal barriers, and the execution of the forest fire prevention and extinction service in the next two years.

Likewise, an amount of 1.1 million euros was approved for the execution of the works to open the access road to Batán de Abajo, in the Anaga Rural Park, whose works will be carried out by Gesplan and will have a deadline of 20 months.

In addition, the tender for the contract for the start-up and development of the ‘Masizo de Anaga Biosphere Reserve’ brand was approved for an amount of 300,000 euros and an execution period of two years and another 648,000 euros will be allocated for the improvement of the Island Network of Trails.
