The Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands has begun the process of placing four prefabricated concrete beams weighing more than 52 tons and 25 meters long to continue with the construction of the two overpasses over the TF-1 of the new Chafiras link, on the island of Tenerife.
The work, which will be carried out on the section of the highway between San Isidro and Las Américas, will force the provisional closure of the road from today, Tuesday, the 19th, and until tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20, in both directions, from 10:00 p.m. to 06:00 hours, for the placement of two auto cranes, to affect the traffic on this road as little as possible.
While these works are carried out, southbound traffic will be redirected through exit 62-A, to the Camello roundabout on the TF-65 highway and must turn 180º to join the highway again.
In the case of northbound traffic, vehicles will leave through the new Oroteanda interchange heading along the left collector road. From there, they will enter Claudio Delgado Díaz Avenue through the new roundabout and continue to the exit roundabout to the TF-1 of the current Chafiras interchange. During the outages, traffic will be allowed on the current Chafiras bridge.
As for bus stops, they will be modified during work hours. In the south direction they will move to stop 7374 on the TF-65 highway, 150 meters away; and the stop heading north will be placed in front of the Disa gas station service station, next to the taxi rank.
The Oroteanda-Las Chafiras link, whose investment currently amounts to 23.6 million euros, aims to resolve the influx of traffic that occurs on the Las Chafiras link, and which generates great congestion, not only on the link itself and the branches. , but also on the TF-1 highway.
