Canarian Coalition from La Guancha denounced the existence, for months, of a municipal landfill at the back of the calisthenics circuita situation that occurs due to the passivity of the current local government (PP-PSOE), “which is not capable of putting an end to this situation and taking a series of urgent measures to end the accumulation of garbage in said area.”
The nationalists remember that the regional swimming pool and the skate park are also located in this area. Both facilities remain closed, and this occurs in a municipality where there is a waste management plant.
The spokesperson for the Canarian Coalition in the municipality, Alejandro Herrera, details that said space “is used to pour plant material from different prunings that have been carried out in La Guancha, including remains of the Canary Islands palm tree, and even more so when this variety has its own action to prevent, among other things, the spread of various pests and/or diseases.
Herrera pointed out that “if this were not enough, this place is also used to dump material left over from works, tires and other waste, some of which must be treated under a specific protocol.”
The nationalist councilor assures that neighbors adjoining the lower part have informed the City Council, “repeatedly”, that they are affected because this debris reaches their properties through the great gap that exists, “putting their integrity and their crops at risk.” ».
CC demands immediate intervention and “prohibit the dumping of any material.” The nationalists demand that the local government “take urgent measures aimed at prohibiting dumping in the area and removing and subsequent treatment of materials that require special treatment.”
