Fall of trees, branches and fences in La Laguna due to strong winds



The Local Police of The lagoon informs of the falling trees, branches and fencesas well as the detachment of wiring in different parts of the municipality due to the action of the wind.

In the central Rodríguez Morue street, part of the protection fence of a construction site has fallen, which has forced the temporary closure of pedestrian access.

Several agents of the Local Police of La Laguna have moved to the places where these incidents have been reported to mark the areas and maintain the safety of the neighbors, the police force reports on social networks.

The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands activated the wind alert in El Hierro, La Gomera and the Tenerife municipalities of Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, La Victoria, La Matanza, El Sauzal, Tacoronte since last midnight , La Laguna, Santa Cruz and El Rosario.

These are the municipalities that were affected by the forest fires that began on August 15, through whose mountain areas the Cabildo of Tenerife recommends not traveling due to the risk of falling trees and branches.

Emergencies recommend closing doors and windows to avoid drafts and broken glass, removing flower pots and all objects that could fall onto the street from balconies and terraces, checking that there is no risk of falling debris or debris, avoiding excursions and camping, and limit road trips to those strictly necessary.
