A traffic accident that occurred this Saturday on the highway in the south of Tenerife, the TF-1, has left two men injured to varying degrees. The incident occurred after 2:00 p.m., heading south, near the municipality of Güímar, specifically at kilometer 24.
As reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of the Government of the Canary Islands (CECOES) 1-1-2, one of the injured is a 50-year-old motorcyclist who, at the initial moment of assistance, presented multiple traumas of a serious nature, due to which was transferred in a medical ambulance to the Ntra. Sra. de La Candelaria University Hospital.
The other injured person is a 36-year-old man who, at the initial time of assistance, presented various minor traumas, transported in a basic life support ambulance to the Ntra. Sra. de La Candelaria University Hospital.
According to 1-1-2, after 2:00 p.m., the CECOES received an alert reporting that a collision had occurred between a motorcyclist and a van, which had caught fire.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Members of the Fire Consortium extinguished the fire that started in the van and collaborated in its removal from the road. The SUC personnel assisted two injured people, the occupant of the van with minor injuries and the motorcyclist with serious injuries who, after being stabilized in the ambulance, was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
The Civil Guard regulated traffic in the area due to the significant delays caused by the accident and instructed the corresponding procedures.
The Insular Highway Center proceeded to clean the road.
