Almost 1,200 people eat the longest nougat ever made in Canary Islands. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Tamaimo Christmas Marketin the southern municipality of Santiago del Teide, and it took place between half past nine in the morning and well into the afternoon. The Valladolid chef Paul Pastor led a gastronomic adventure that is being held for the first time on the Island. The national record for the longest nougat is still held by the city of Madrid with an elaboration of 50 meters.
In order to carry out this assignment, a shopping list was necessary in which there was fifty kilos of chocolate, both dark and white, 18 of almonds, 12 of gofio and between 5 and 6 of cookies. Pastor and his team got their hands on the nougat after half past nine in the morning and finished it around two in the afternoon. A tasting has been scheduled for this afternoon that is included in the program of Christmas events prepared by the town council of Santiago del Teide. Members of the Tamaimo Neighborhood Association collaborated in the initiative.
