Santa Cruz of Tenerife next year it will have the first Pump Track of the capital, a sports circuit with slopes intended for sports on wheels, such as skateboards, bicycles or scooters.
The work, which will have a budget of more than 1.5 million euros, will be carried out in the old fighting ground of Los Gladiolos, on Ganivet Street. The project is part of the Tenerife Sports Infrastructure Plan 2022-2026, which will be approved next week by the Cabildo. A plan that will allow the execution of different sports projects for the municipality and whose momentum was ratified this Friday in an extraordinary plenary session held, as a matter of urgency, at the capital’s City Hall.
In total, Santa Cruz will receive, through this Sports Infrastructure Plan, more than 5.5 million euros that will allow the improvement and innovation of different spaces for the practice of sports activity in the capital, as explained by the Sports Councilor. , Alicia Cebrián.
Basketball courts and weight training areas
In this sense, the councilor announced that in the new Los Gladiolos sports space, apart from the Pump Tracka 3×3 basketball court and a garden area will be allocated to install outdoor bodybuilding.


Likewise, other improvement works throughout 2024 will include the construction of a climbing wall at the Las Delicias Sports Complex, as well as the renovation of the grass and stands at the Los Gladiolos, Las Delicias and La Salud soccer fields. .
Cebrián stressed that “this is very good news for sport in the capital of Tenerife, from which all citizens will benefit. Currently, Santa Cruz has more than one hundred municipal facilities dedicated to sports.
