A dancer, a tightrope walker, a strong man, a presenter…The truth is that at Enchanted Forest Children’s Centerwhich is located in Tacoronte, has not lacked any detail to become an authentic circus for christmas. A work that the educational community has been developing for months and with which it aims to find “those little eyes and bright smiles” in its students every morning.
Christmas is a special time for Bosque Encantado. “Every year we decorate our center. Before, we only did it inside, but due to the excitement it gave our boys and girls we decided to also decorate the outside,” they say. A work that, without a doubt, contains high doses of love and dedication. And the decorations are made by the educational team itself and, as it could not be otherwise, by the little ones who fill the facilities with life every day.
Ideas come in summer
The Enchanted Forest prepares its original Christmas decorations long in advance. “In the summer, ideas and possible themes usually emerge,” they point out from the center. And, although it is difficult for them to decide, they always select those that they think will surprise the boys and girls the most. “We make the sketches and, later, we think about the materials we could use and the time we have to dedicate to them,” they add. The idea is to have everything ready before November 25, a date that coincides with the Tacoronte festivities.
This school’s effort to create a space that breathes excitement and fun in equal parts has not gone unnoticed. In fact, it has participated in the window display competitions organized by the City Council’s Commerce area, winning first prize for three consecutive years. “It consists of a gift voucher to be exchanged at the different businesses in the municipality and we have always used it to acquire material for the use of our students,” they point out. Thus, the first year they dared with the showcase of “elf fair“, the second with “The Toy Factory” and the third with “Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory“.
Tribute to The Clowns on TV
For this Christmas, the educational community has turned the Enchanted Forest into a circus with which they pay tribute to The clowns on TV, characters who “managed to conquer us all thanks to their charisma and special humor,” they add from the school located in Tacoronte. “We have a dancer, a tightrope walker, a strong man and a presenter. Of course, we cannot fail to mention our ticket office, where you can find cotton candy, caramelized apples, hot dogs and even a popcorn machine,” they describe. In addition, they have created the street “How are you?” and they have a particular “Miliki”, which not only surprises the boys and girls, but also takes the adults back to their childhood: “Who doesn’t remember the mythical ‘hello, don Pepito, hello, don José’.”
Can visit
From the Bosque Encantado Children’s Center they invite everyone to enjoy the magic of their particular Christmas circus, which can be found at 250D of the General North Highway, in the municipality of Tacoronte.
“Our team is very proud of the result. The objective is accomplished. Our circus has impressed, surprised and flattered our boys and girls, their families and all the pedestrians who pass by our center,” they say.
