There are eight detainees and more than a ton of drugs seized



The National Police have arrested eight people as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime that introduced large quantities of hashish from Morocco to the island of Tenerife.

National Police investigators obtained information indicating the existence of a family clan dedicated to the removal of large quantities of hashish from Morocco.

Thus, through surveillance and monitoring, they detected members of the organization who were transporting the drugs using two vans from Punta Prieta-La Caleta, in the municipality of Güímar, to a parking lot located in Ofra (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). .

After gathering sufficient evidence, the National Police established a police device that allowed the seizure of both vans, as well as the discovery of 39 burlap bales weighing 30 kilograms each, with a total of 1,259 kilograms of hashish.

After the seizure and full identification of those investigated, a total of seven searches were carried out with judicial authorization, distributed among the neighborhoods of Ofra, La Laguna and Fasnia.

Four of them were carried out simultaneously and culminated in the arrest of eight people, the seizure of 9,820 euros, three vehicles, the seizure of 58 kilograms of hashish and the discovery of a marijuana plantation. indoor in perfect working order that had at least six electrical transformers and another six artificial lighting sources, different ventilation and air extraction devices, and about fifty flower pots.

A detonator gun and a taser were also found in the searches.

During one of the searches carried out on one of the properties, an aviary was also found with thirteen birds of different exotic species that were commissioned due to the lack of accreditation of legal possession by their supposed owners and subsequently sent to a shelter, reports the National Police.

The detainees, after being heard in their statements, were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
