This Wednesday, the Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife approved multi-year financing until 2026 to cover 90% of the cost of the new auditorium in the municipality of Candelaria, almost 7.5 million euros.
This was stated at a press conference by the vice president and Minister of Tourism, Lope Afonso, who pointed out that the new cultural facility will be built on a municipal lot where some bus stops are located.
Afonso has said that it will be a “state-of-the-art” cultural facility with capacity for about 500 people and that it will serve the entire Güímar Valley region.
At the same time, he commented that another investment of around 2.9 million has been approved for the renovation of the Los Silos auditorium.
The vice president has also reported on the award to develop the Tenerife Artificial Intelligence Master Plan for 379,500 euros charged to Next Generation funds and an execution period of 18 months.
Thus, he pointed out that the objective of the Cabildo is for tourism to “also be at the forefront” of new technologies and artificial intelligence given that ‘big data’ allows for “improving” the marketing of the destination and also “getting to know better” the people. visitors and thus help the reputation.
The president, Rosa Dávila, has also indicated that almost 500,000 euros will be invested in the first seven charging points for fast-charging electric vehicles of a total of 16 that are planned – they will cover up to 80% in 50 minutes – .
He has pointed out the beneficiary municipalities will be La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Arico, El Rosario, El Sauzal, Garachico, Granadilla, Guía de Isora, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz, San Juan de la Rambla and Santiago del Teide.
The project has an execution period of about ten months and Dávila has assured that it is an example of the Cabildo’s “impulse” to decarbonize the island.
Dávila has also announced that an interpretation center for the Teno Biosphere Reserve will be built in the Los Pedregales area, in the municipality of Buenavista – a three-year project – and some 174,000 euros will be invested, through of Gesplan, to reform the Teno Rural Park office.
He has also indicated that the lighting project for the convent of San Francisco, in Garachico, and an investment of around 300,000 euros for the pedestrianization of the historic center has been approved.
