The Candelaria City Council has started a series of works aimed at significantly improving the sports court located next to the Álvaro de Armas Sports Complex, in Barranco Hondo. This multipurpose space, used both by residents for recreational activities and by the Municipal Tennis School, will undergo a restructuring that will allow a more efficient distribution of its use.

The mayor of the municipality, Mari Brito, expressed her interest in this initiative: “These works represent a significant advance for our municipality, offering our neighbors a versatile and suitable space for practicing sports. It is essential to promote the coexistence of different disciplines in the same place. The City Council, in collaboration with the Cabildo, has ratified an agreement for the execution of the Multisport Courts Program on the Island of Tenerife, with a financial contribution of 9,533.93 euros.

Until now, the coexistence of different disciplines in this place was complex, for example, when the Municipal Tennis School held its classes, it limited the practice of other sports such as football or basketball that other people freely practiced there.

However, current works seek to change this dynamic by separating the uses of the court, making it possible for the Tennis School to coexist with the practice of other sports, explains the Councilor for Sports, Manuel González.

This investment will allow a comprehensive renovation of the equipment, promoting the practice of various sports disciplines.
