Light up the house during the Christmas It is a phenomenon that has gained popularity in many places, becoming a festive tradition that goes beyond simple decoration and in Canary Islands There are people who take it to a level that is difficult to overcome. This is precisely the case in the Tenerife islandhome of the two most festive residences in the Canary Islands. Lorenzo Barroso, from Valle de Guerraand Montse, from Acoránhave shared their experiences at the microphones of COPE Tenerifehighlighting two of the most exciting projects of the season on the island.
More of 50,000 low consumption light bulbs They illuminate the facades of their homes, adorned with hundreds of handmade Christmas-themed decorations, the result of months of intense dedication. “There are days when the energy falters, but then you remember the excitement of the people when they come with their families to see the lighting,” says Montse. Lorenzo Barroso adds: “The audience is very diverse. Initially, it was the enthusiasm of the children that drove the project, and now people of all ages come.”
Over the years, these houses have become another attraction within the already rich cultural program of festivities on the island. In Lorenzo’s case, tradition runs in the family, since his father started decorating the house for Christmas in 1995.
Electricity bill
Faced with the dazzling display of Christmas lights on its facades, the obvious question arises on everyone’s mind: “How much can the electricity bill be?“?” The answer is surprising. Following the sustainability standard, all lighting is composed of low consumption LED bulbs.
Both protagonists confirm that, in numerical terms, the increase in bill is “30 or 40 euros”, an anecdotal figure according to them. “It is very worth it. The additional cost more than compensates for the excitement of the family and all the people who come to visit our project.”
