The Guaza barracks emerged as an emergency solution 21 years ago, to address the demographic explosion that Arona registered at the beginning of this century. After three months of work, it was inaugurated on September 12, 2002, being the first modular educational center built in the Canary Islands.
The Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands is working with the perspective that the relocation of the students from Los Abrigos is prolonged “as little as possible”, so that the school resumes normal activity before the end of the school year. At least, in the last quarter.
