SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, December 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has started a training program in this 2023/2024 academic year for teachers newly incorporated into the public education system in order to support them in their incorporation into the classrooms.
Being one of the strategic lines of the current Ministry of Education, this specific training plan for teachers who are joining the system for the first time is voluntary and has been made available to 2,225 teachers, of which 957 are already participating. in it.
The program aims to train new teachers in fundamental aspects of the Canary Islands educational system such as the curricula, the structure of the Ministry and the centers, the functions and powers of the different bodies, as well as the teaching staff, among others. .
The updating of teaching staff in new educational methodologies and technologies is another of the actions that are being carried out by the General Directorate of Personnel and Teacher Training, coordinated by Mónica Ramírez.
Thus, 3,790 teachers from centers dependent on the Ministry participate in training actions for the accreditation of the Digital Teaching Competence corresponding to level B1. Likewise, 3,600 teachers are involved in professional development activities for level B2, in this case, within the framework of their centers’ training plans.
These places join the 23,332 already offered, which have allowed 17,322 personnel to have already been able to certify Digital Teaching Competence in the Autonomous Community.
