Christina Martinuntil now first vice president, has been appointed acting president of the Real Casino de Tenerife after the dismissal of Miguel Cabrera Pérez-Camacho, who has retired “temporarily” after the judicial process opened for an alleged sexual assault on a student of his from the Faculty of Law of the University of La Laguna.
Cristina Martín, who is the first woman to assume the Presidency of the Casino de Tenerife, has been unanimously appointed during the extraordinary session of the Board of Directors held on Monday, according to the entity in a statement.
The new president, who has a degree in Law, will be in office while it is resolved. the judicial issue of Miguel Cabrera Pérez-Camachowho last week said that he was “temporarily” ceasing his duties as president out of “absolute conviction” of his “total innocence.”
The decision was made on the basis that the Casino “cannot be harmed” by the accusations against it and the media impact that this has generated.
“The honor and prestige of this institution must be above any personal issue,” he added.
