The suspension of air traffic at Munich airport due to heavy snowfall has caused the cancellation until the moment of 48 flights to different Spanish airportsreported the airport manager Aena.
The number of operations planned this Saturday from Munich airport to Spain amounts to 63, although Aena has not yet confirmed the cancellation of the rest of the pending flights.
The flights whose cancellation has been confirmed originating in the Bavarian capital affect the airports of Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Alicante, Tenerife South, Palma, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Valencia.
Munich airport will remain closed, for the moment, until Sunday at 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT).
The storm of low temperatures and snowfall also affects airports in England and Scotland. Aena sources have told EFE that, unlike connections from Munich, they are not aware of any more canceled flights from other capitals.
