The Los Realejos City Council yesterday approved the budgets for 2024 with the favorable votes of the PP government group, led by its mayor, Adolfo Gonzalezand the vote against the municipal group of PSOE and the abstention of CC. The Councilor for Finance, Aránzazu Domínguez, defended accounts of 37.9 million euros, which represents an increase of 2.9 million compared to this year, an increase of 8.40%. It is a budget focused on social spending – more than 6.38 million, 5.8% more than in 2023 –, the commitment to human capital – exceeding 12 million in the personnel chapter, 3.2% more than in the current year–, investments –growing to 3.4 million and representing an annual increase of 7.79%– and services –a record of more than 9.6 million among the public companies Realserv, Aquare and Radio Realejos –.
Social Welfare has more than 3 million euros to create a new social emergency unit, reinforce the home help service, improve play libraries, increase rental aid and will assume the rents of those families who are evicted during the construction of the new social housing of the ARRUR of Los Príncipes.
The commitment to security and Local police It is another of the pillars with 3.7 million, around 10%. A total of 108,000 euros will be to support the work of the volunteer associations of Firefighters and Civil Protection.
Some of the large projects that are planned to be started or executed are the new swimming pool and sports complex, the rehabilitation of the La Gorvorana hacienda and the La Montaña mansion, the Icod el Alto sports center, the third phase of the entrance through Los Barros, new playgrounds, a bicycle circuit, a new phase of remodeling of the commercial area of La Cruz Santa, the execution of the social housing of Los Príncipes, the multifunctional park of El Campo in Toscal Longuera or the rehabilitation of the San Agustín School.
