The draft budget for the 2024 financial year of the El Rosario City Council reaches 22,197,941 euros, exceeding the figure of 20 million euros for the first time. In this year the budget was 18.7 million, so it will experience a significant increase of 18.55% (3,473,561 euros more). This increase is due, for the most part, to the forecast of a credit operation in the amount of two million euros, intended to cover the first part of the redevelopment of Tabaiba Alta y Media.
It is “an ambitious urban project, which due to its extraordinary technical complexity has become a pending issue for this municipality for several decades and which in 2024, finally, after innumerable technical, legal and financial obstacles, we intend to undertake in its entirety.” first and, without a doubt, most essential phase,” explains the mayor of El Rosario, Escolásico Gil. The good financial health of the Consistory, together with the increase in income forecasts, allows it to face with guarantees the aforementioned credit operation that entails this significant growth of the budget, which will benefit citizens.
Escolásico Gil points out that “the year 2024 will be the time for Tabaiba Media and Alta, areas where there are streets in urgent need of reform.” Gil remembers that “it always seemed like an injustice to us that the money obtained in the land auction that was held at the time was not allocated to the Tabaiba urbanization itself, but the courts said that the reparcelling had to continue, and “Now we have the urbanization projects to execute the municipal part of necessary works, highly demanded and that do justice to neighbors who never saw their streets developed.”
The City Council will undertake the total renovation of the drinking water supply network, sanitation, telecommunications, lighting, paving and paving of Guaydil, Cardón, Sábila, Palmera, Brezo streets, part of Drago, Laurel, Aceviño streets and improvements on Verode Street. Along with the increase in the Investment Chapter, the increase in the planned allocation for municipal subsidies included in the Strategic Subsidies Plan also stands out. Particularly noteworthy is the increase in sports subsidies and social emergency subsidies for small investment expenses (acquisition of household goods or small appliances). Both headings increase by 50% compared to 2023, going, in the first case, from 62,700 to 93,400 euros (30,700 euros more) and from 20,000 to 30,000 euros, in the second (10,000 euros more).
“People first”
Gil details that “we have increased the amount of public subsidies granted by this City Council because we put people first, both from a social point of view and through a firm positioning to invest in sports, health and promotion.” of essential values for the development of our youth and our entire society. Thus, he explains that “it is an expansive budget, which gives great importance to social spending and the promotion of sports and health and sustainability, the improvement of the water cycle and the reform of public roads in a state of deterioration such as important pillars for its execution.

It also increases current spending on goods and services, 6.79%, reaching 9.7 million euros. It does so with the objective of improving public services that are transferred to citizens and also, in a forward-looking manner, to be able to face, without any difficulty, the increase in the price of energy, particularly electric energy, which has increased worrying way for years and, especially, after the beginning of the war in Ukraine and its serious connotations worldwide.
