The symbolic button to turn on the Christmas lighting was located at the intersection between Viana and Obispo Rey Redondo streets, in front of the Casa de los Capitanes, and in front of the pointed arch-shaped roof of lights, which has become one of the most recognizable images of Christmas in Tenerife, a place packed with people who did not want to miss the moment.
It has been weeks now, since the end of September, that the City Council, through the Department of Municipal Services and the company Effico Arte y Luz, began with the installation of the Christmas lighting planned for different parts of the municipality. This year, nearly 2,800 Christmas motifs will illuminate the streets of towns and neighborhoods in La Laguna, once again relying on the latest LED technology available, thus contributing to reducing the energy consumption of this decoration and minimizing its environmental impact.
This set of decorative elements will mean zero cost for the La Laguna City Council, since all this material is provided, as part of the improvement of the contract, by the concessionaire company for the public lighting maintenance service.
