SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Santa Cruz Sostenible Foundation, collaborates in the organization of a clean-up on Las Teresitas beach, which will take place this Sunday, November 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This is an action that is part of a program of events organized to mark the celebration, this weekend, of the Las Teresitas Regatta 2023, one of the most important sailing events in Tenerife.
The vice president of the Sustainable Santa Cruz Foundation and first deputy mayor, Carlos Tarife, pointed out that “the city will always collaborate with this type of actions that contribute to the care and protection of the environment” and added that “it is everyone’s job to take care of our environment, which is unique, which has incalculable value, and which is what we are going to leave to the next generations.
The cleaning of Las Teresitas will be carried out with the volunteers that are created to move the boats and all those participants who want to join. An appointment whose objective is to collect the tobacco butts that are found on the beach and surrounding areas, as well as the garbage and plastics that, for the most part, are found in the parking lot and surrounding areas.
It should be noted that on Saturday, and after the competition in the water, there will be a meal with all the participants, which they will make using recyclable bamboo or similar containers. In addition, drinking water suppliers will be available to refill aluminum or similar bottles and avoid single-use bottles. Actions that seek to ensure that the footprint that this sporting event leaves on the environment is as small as possible.
