The Canary Islands will have five new centers for victims of sexual violence

He president of the Canary IslandsFernando Clavijo, announced yesterday morning the future creation of five specific centers intended for victims of sexual violence on different islands. These resources will increase the assistance network that the regional administration and the councils offer to women victims of sexist violence. And family members called in 4% of the total.

Regarding the type of attacks, 44% were due to physical violence, while episodes of psychological attacks reached 41%. Sexual violence was recorded in 4% of the episodes.
