The prestigious British primatologist Jane Goodall visit Tenerife this Friday, where you will learn first-hand about the educational program Roots & Shoots and the La Tahonilla wildlife recovery center, and the next day he will offer a conference at the University of La Laguna.
The foundation to which Dr. Goodall is named informs that on her tour of Spain, after five years since her last presence in the country, she will first go to Madrid, where she will give a talk at La Casa Encendida and attend a private event at the project Healthy Cities from Sanitas, and then head to Tenerife.
On the island he will dedicate two days (Friday and Saturday) to visit the groups of the educational program Roots & Shoots from the area, with whom he will share various activities and the La Tahonilla recovery center to learn first-hand about the work carried out there rescuing and rehabilitating marine animals.
On Saturday, the primatologist will give a conference in the Auditorium of the central Campus of the University of La Laguna, with free admission, under the title Reasons for hopein which he will tell his life experience and what are the main reasons for hope to, at 89 years old, continue working to “leave a better world for everyone.”
Once his tour of Spain ends, he will travel to Andorra.
Jane Goodall has a PhD in Ethology from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. honoris causa by more than 45 universities from around the world, two of them Spanish.
She has received more than a hundred awards, including the Prince of Asturias for research in 2003, and has been distinguished by the Legion of Honor of the Republic of France and received the title of Dame of the British Empire and Messenger of Peace of United Nations.
