The Prosecutor’s Office has requested a total of 16 years of jail and the joint payment of 27,000 euros to two men those he considers responsible for a crime of robbery with violence and of injuries after break his jaw to the victim in the middle of the street.
The trial will be held next week in the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz and one of them would also be responsible for breaking a restraining order against the victim that had been notified to him that same morning, for which he is also requested to pay 3,000 euros for this fact. The events took place in a square in Santa Cruz when the two accused approached the victim and punched him in the jaw with a fist in which he was wearing a ring, while the other, apparently, then hit him with a stone and stole and broke his cell phone while the complainant remained defenseless on the ground. As a result of this joint aggression, the man suffered a double fracture of the jaw that required medical and surgical treatment for 90 days and impediments to carrying out his usual tasks.
Currently, the victim still suffers physical consequences, since he has various scars that prevent him from opening his mouth normally and the loss of his teeth created a gap in the front part of his teeth, “easily visible and difficult to conceal, therefore.” that its image is significantly modified,” points out the Prosecutor’s Office.
Of the amount requested by the prosecutor, 1,100 euros would be paid as additional personal damage to the surgical operation, 7,000 for the consequences suffered and just over 13,000 for the aesthetic damage caused, to which the payment for the broken cell phone will be added. once it is appraised.
One of the defendants currently remains in provisional prison.
