A municipality of Tenerife has had a curious idea when it comes to highlighting those points of interest that should be visited by both neighbors and visitors. And he has done it through optical illusions in its streets.
The Orotava It becomes the scene of striking optical illusions for the promotion of emblematic spaces of the municipality. The orotavenses and the tourists Those who walk through the streets of the town these days can get a photograph in their favorite place through four trompe-l’oeils placed in different parts of the urban area.
The initiative, which is part of the Departments of Commerce and Tourismwill take place for a month and aims to bring, in a curious and fun way, the knowledge of hidden corners and important places in the town, and at the same time, promote them.
Capturing a photograph while simulating paragliding over the La Orotava Valley will be possible on Obispo Benítez Avenue in Lugo, and achieving the best capture while rappelling in the arid and vertiginous Barranco de Los Arcos will be a reality on Calvario Street. The route continues in Plaza Patricio García with an optical illusion of the bell tower of the Church of La Concepción Tower, and on San Francisco Street with a trompe l’oeil of the rock formation known as the Zapato de la Reina located in the National Park of Teide.
These four optical illusions are made of vinyl and adhered to the floor. It is a pictorial technique that attempts to trick the eye by playing with the architectural environment, perspective, shading and other optical effects to achieve an intensified reality.
The City Council encourages you to follow the instructions placed on each trompe l’oeil to get the most realistic or original photograph and share it on social networks with the hashtag #orotavaillusionesopticas.
