He Tenerife Council yesterday announced the completion of the Guía de Isora senior center by 2024, after two years of delays in the works and the provision of equipment. It was advanced by the president of the insular Corporation, Rosa Davila, after the meeting he had with the mayor of Isorana, Ana Dorta. “Although the works have been stopped for more than two years, fortunately we are going to contribute so that throughout 2024 we can have the equipment for this infrastructure, finish it and launch it during the first half of 2025,” he explained. .
Ana Dorta, mayor of Isorana, showed her satisfaction after a meeting that she described as fruitful. The councilor valued the willingness of the president of the Cabildo “to collaborate and contribute to the improvement of Guía de Isora, after four years of abandonment and scarce resources for our municipality.” Dorta explained that during the meeting “we were able to talk about all the items contemplated in the budgets for 2024, which cover all areas, including the long-awaited completion of the nursing home.”
The work carried out to complete this enclosure will consist of undertaking the electrical supply installations, protection against fires, plumbing, sanitation, air conditioning and laundry, among others, as well as legalizing, according to current regulations, those carried out in the previous phases and providing the center with furniture (beds, bathroom chairs, transfer cranes, televisions…). This way it can go into operation.
The center will have 75 residential places for seniors and another 20 daytime places for the Southwest region. This will culminate an infrastructure that began on May 28, 2010, with the demolition of the old schools in the Isorano urban area, which were also used as a health center.
In addition to the completion of this center, in the meeting between the island president and the mayor, important issues for Guía de Isora in terms of mobility were addressed, such as the installation of a parking lot to access the town and the Alcalá bypass, a priority work. for the town, the municipality and the coast of the Southwest of Tenerife since it will alleviate the traffic congestion suffered by the area.
