The patio of Franciscan Convent of Granadilla de Abona hosted yesterday, and for the first time in the history of the municipality, the presentation of the Extension of the XXVIII International Festival of the Story of Los Silos, in an event attended by Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, director of the Festival; Óscar Delgado Melo, first deputy mayor, and Francisco Socas Díaz, councilor for the City Council’s Culture area, in charge of bringing this event to Granadilla de Abona. During the 23rd, 24th and 25th of this month, a complete program of activities for the whole family will be developed with a marked literary imprint, which will turn the historic center of Granada into an ideal enclave for guests from different parts of the world to take reading to all the neighbours.
This event is one of the highlights of the November programming of the Cultural Agenda of Granadilla de Abona, Culturarte, specifically forming part of its Contarte section.
There will be new releases released for the first time in this Granadilla Extension, as well as personalities such as Cecilia Domínguez, Canary Islands Literature Prize winner; Humberto Hernández, president of the Canary Islands Academy of Language, or Benita Prieto, emblematic Brazilian writer, among many others.
The first deputy mayor of the southern municipality, Óscar Delgado, stated that “the fact that after 28 editions the Festival takes place in Granadilla de Abona is a sign that things are being done well.”
