Tenerife participated in the annual conference of Signature Travel Network, “one of the most important events in the sector”, which had open days for members of Signature agencies and suppliers and which took place in Las Vegas (Nevada). It is, they indicated from the Council Tenerife, from «a professional meeting attended by more than 2,500 professionals from the sector, of which 1,652 are travel agents and 846, Signature member participants, and where Tenerife has had the opportunity to make attendees aware of the wide offer that makes up destiny”.
During the conference, Tenerife held a workshop on the Island aimed at around 200 travel agents in a 30-minute presentation. Likewise, and through the representation of Tenerife Tourism, one-to-three and one-to-one meetings have been held, where the destination was shown to more than 180 professionals from the tourism sector.
The vice president and advisor of Tourism of the Cabildo, Lope Afonso, assures that “Tenerife has reinforced its presence in the United States in recent years through numerous promotional actions, in coordination with the tourist representative office in the United States, to publicize the destination.”
For her part, the CEO of Tourism, Dimple Melwani, underlines the importance of Tenerife’s presence at an event such as Signature Travel Network, since “the North American market is experiencing notable growth in our destination, with very positive occupancy records in the summer months and, even more so, in the winter season, reflecting that Tenerife has become a reference place when planning your trips. In this sense, Melwani emphasizes that “we continue to consolidate our connection with the North American market in the summer months.”
The Signature Travel Network program, which has brought together around 570 companies in the tourism industry from around the world, including the United States and Canada, related to the world of hotels, airlines and service providers, has been based on speed dating, with nearly 50,000 dates between all members and travel agents of the association.
New appointment with the US
At the beginning of December, Tenerife will be present at the USTOA Annual Conference & Marketplace 2023, organized by the United States Tour Operators Association, and which brings together the main executives of American tour operators in Los Angeles. The event will focus on offering members access straight and unprecedented to the leaders of the sector and those responsible for the main travel companies in the United States, in addition to attending presentations with case studies, new tools and ideas to boost the promotion of the destination, the island institution pointed out in a note .
At the event, Tenerife will be the official sponsor of the JOLT networking days, where around 600 tourism professionals will view a promotional video about the Island that will be shown during the session. In addition, it will have nearly 60 appointments “to capture the attention of a traveler who is increasingly paying attention to Tenerife.”
For the last 45 years, this event has distinguished itself by “being the only tourism sector event in the United States that brings together the main North American travel companies with tourism providers and destinations from around the world in an intimate and exclusive environment.”
Tenerife has joined the Virtuoso travel agency network, which allows it to give visibility to the destination’s attractions among its more than 21,000 agents, not only in North America, but also from other continents, and has also been integrated as affiliate member in the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), one of the largest travel trade associations in the world. The promotional actions carried out by Turismo de Tenerife in the United States are completed with campaigns with tour operators such as United Airlines.
