The Royal Spanish Hunting Federation (RFEC) and the Canarian Hunting Federation have held a meeting with the Cabildo of Tenerife to study the feasibility of holding the 2024 Spanish Hunting Tour Championship on the island.
The meeting, held at the Cabildo de Tenerife, was attended by the president of the RFEC, Manuel Gallardo, and the director of competitions, Eduardo Cornejo, while the president, Jonatan Valentín, was present on behalf of the Canarian Hunting Federation, and on the part of the Government of the Canary Islands, the general director of Natural Spaces and Biodiversity, Miguel Ángel Morcuende, and the counselor of Natural Environment, Sustainability, Security and Emergencies of the Cabildo, Blanca Pérez.
In this first contact, the RFEC has expressed the intention to hold the 2024 RRCC national in the archipelago for the first time in history.
Specifically, it is a test that year after year mobilizes more than four hundred shooters from all corners of Spain, which will put Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island and the Canary archipelago at the epicenter of national and international shooting.
The federative president, Manuel Gallardo, has thanked “the interest and work of the Canarian Hunting Federation to be able to make the national hunting tours a reality in 2024”, for which he has asked the Canarian Government for “all the collaboration and involvement to facilitate the arrival and stay of the shooters who will come from all corners of the Spanish geography.
Jonathan Valentín, for his part, has expressed his total gratitude to the RFEC “for the proposal to carry out this massive test” on the island and has conveyed his total involvement “so that this test is historic and places the Canary Islands as a benchmark in the world of clay pigeon shooting.
The representatives of the Canarian government expressed their full support for the initiative and conveyed their “recognition of hunting activity as a fundamental activity at a socioeconomic and environmental level.”
In relation to the 2024 RRCC national, they have committed to starting conversations with airlines and hospitality companies to facilitate the hosting of a test for which they will show all their “support and collaboration”, concludes a note from the Spanish federation.
