He La Laguna City Councilthrough the Department of Works and Infrastructure, has started this week the work of pedestrianization on Rodríguez Moure Street, in the section between San Agustín and Anchieta roads, close to the historic center of the city.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, explained that the global budget for this work amounts to 279,982 euros, as established in the bidding process that began at the end of last August. He also announced that these works will last three months.
For his part, the Lagunero councilor for Works, Adolfo Cordobés, recalled that traffic on this stretch had already been restricted for several years, except in exceptional cases such as residents of the area and commercial vehicles that could travel during the permitted hours. However, during the development of these interventions, access to this affected road will be prohibited, as the surrounding citizens have been previously informed.
The work will consist of paving the road axis, with restricted rolling, with a central longitudinal strip, where the scuppers are housed, and strips of paving stones of the same material, with a flat and non-slip texture, on both sides of the street. The perimeter sidewalks will be generated with the resulting space between the rolling area until the meeting with the facades of the buildings that form the envelope. All aerial services will also be buried, such as public lighting, telephone and low voltage. Likewise, the stormwater, sanitation and supply networks and the firefighting network will be replaced.
The pedestrianization of this section will follow the guidelines established by the Special Protection Plan for paving roads, providing pedestrian use through a single platform and returning prominence to citizens.
