Video: The Canarian division of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang falls in Tenerife: six are arrested

Agents of the National Police have arrested in different parts of the island of Tenerife six people, members of the Canary Islands chapter, linked to the biker gang Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC), for his alleged participation in the crimes of membership in a criminal organization, damages, serious threats and coercion.

The police investigation, developed jointly by the General Information Commission and the Provincial Information Brigade of Tenerife, began three years ago when it became known that, in said Moto Club (Hells Angels) they intended to extend their sphere of power to the island of Tenerife.

As a result, and taking into account the danger that the establishment of these biker gangs entails due to their links to organized crime (as has been confirmed in the United States or in different countries in Europe), arduous intelligence and investigation.

Thus, the researchers were able to determine how the Hells Angels considered that the island of Tenerife should be under their “protection”, preventing on the one hand other rival motorcycle clubs from entering their “territory” and that those that, without being rivals, were settled or they wanted to settle, they had to do so under the control of the Hells.

This became evident when several members of a legal motorcycle gang, who wanted to open a branch on the island, began to suffer coercion and serious threats, causing extensive damage to their motorcycles and cars in retaliation for their establishment and with clear intimidating effect, facts attributed to the detainees.

The Police detail in a note that Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) is an organization present in at least 62 countries and has about 5,000 members, and is illegal in countries such as Germany or the Netherlands.

In Spain it was established in 1997 and currently has a total of 17 chapters.

The expansion of the Hells Angels in Spain has occurred progressively, especially in recent years, with strategic points for organized crime such as the Costa del Sol, the Costa Levantina, the Costa Brava and the Canary archipelago, explains the Police.

The operation carried out by the National Police is part of the fight of the European police, led by Europol through the (AP) Monitor Project, against the establishment of these “outlaw” motorcycle gangs linked to organized crime.

In fact, in Spain there have already been various police operations against various chapters of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) for crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, drug trafficking, coercion, extortion, robbery with violence and illicit possession of weapons.
