A 66-year-old woman died this Monday after being rescued from the sea in cardiorespiratory arrest on La Jaquita beach, in the south of Tenerife.
The lifeguards from the beach, located in the town of Alcalá (Guía de Isora), had rescued the woman from the water and performed first aid until the arrival of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and a doctor and a nurse from the clinic.
The health personnel continued with resuscitation maneuvers, both basic and advanced, but they could not prevent the death of the woman.
The Civil Guard and the Local Police took charge of the proceedings.
